At Platinum Dental of St. George, we use Invisalign® which is a system of clear, custom-fitted aligners designed as an alternative for traditional braces. Using a three-dimensional digital rendering, Invisalign can model your complete orthodontic treatment plan from beginning to end. Then a sequence of aligners is created for your teeth. Each aligner is worn for a precise time, usually about 14 days, until the teeth match the final chosen position. Each treatment course will need a different amount of time, but typically, cases last from eight to ten months.
Braces are more than the means to a lovely smile–they can enhance dental health, phonetics, appearance, potential sociability, occlusion (bite) problems, and function. However, misaligned teeth are challenging to brush and floss, and substandard cleaning can cause tooth decay and other dental issues. Problems with your bite may also materialize when the upper and lower jaw do not come together ideally. These uncorrected bite problems yield teeth to wear, putting strain on your jawbone, and ultimately leading to discomfort.
Our goal at Platinum Dental of St. George is to be the reason you smile. The dentist will examine your case and help you every step of the way. Call our office at (435) 215-1654 today for an in-person consultation and a treatment plan designed just for you.
Align Technology uses avant-garde digital Technology to build Invisalign, a series of customized clear appliances or aligners. Each aligner is worn successively by the patient to produce extensive tooth movements.
The nearly invisible aligners, made of a thermoplastic material uniquely created for the Invisalign treatment plan, look similar to tooth-whitening trays. Invisalign aligners do not have Bisphenol-A or phthalate plasticizers. Instead, the construction is from aligners and USP Class VI medical-grade, high molecular weight polyurethane resins.
Invisalign is clear, custom aligners designed to straighten teeth. Using 3D digital imaging, Invisalign creates a series of aligners that gradually move your teeth. Each aligner is worn for about 14 days before moving to the next one.
The duration of Invisalign treatment can vary depending on each specific case. However, in most cases, they can last between 8 to 10 months. During your consultation, the doctor will go over a treatment plan based on your specific case.
Invisalign aligners move teeth through a sequence of suitable placement of controlled pressure on your teeth. The primary difference is that Invisalign governs forces and the timing of the force application. During each stage, the trays will permit only certain teeth to move. the doctor will determine these movements as they creates your unique Invisalign treatment plan.
Invisalign aligners are made from a high-quality material that is made specifically for this type of treatment. They are BPA free, ensuring they are safe for all patients.
Invisalign is effective for many orthodontic cases, but not always the best option for every patient. The doctor will examine your dental needs during a consultation to see if Invisalign is the best option for you.
For the best results, you should wear your Invisalign aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day, removing them only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing or flossing your teeth.
Invisalign is made to be convenient. The aligners are virtually invisible, so most people won’t notice you’re wearing them. Since they are removable, this means you can enjoy your favorite foods and maintain a normal oral hygiene routine.
Misaligned teeth are usually harder to clean, which can lead to potential tooth decay and gum issues. Invisalign can help align your teeth, making brushing and flossing easier and more effective. Invisalign can also correct bite problems and reduce strain on your jawbone and teeth, which can prevent discomfort and long-term wear.
Invisalign has detailed applications in orthodontic cases, and case selection is crucial to determine successful outcomes. Call or email Platinum Dental of St. George to book a free consultation. We are excited to discuss what Invisalign can do for you!
